So far I can play HL2 with 65-70 fps but lags around heavy action, now I need a new video card, somthing that will allow me to play BF2,COD2 ,HL2 with smooth frame rates. also any other upgrade advice is welcome. thank you. |

Honestly think about spending the extra 20 bucks and get this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143045 I think this one will outperform the x800gto fairly well and you'll get about 65fps in World of Warcraft, and BF2:SF will run like a champ even with the night vision on (which is a big system hogger.) |

All of those cards would be limited by the CPU. The Celeron ISN'T a gaming CPU by any means.

Forcifer now hunts with the elders!
If you want a serious gaming rig then you want nothing less than AMD. If getting a new mobo and CPU is beyond your means then simply find an Intel chip that uses the same socket type and you're good.

look at a normal 6800 and try to unlock it to a GT with the 4 cards i did it i always had success. Also look at the 6600GT seriens they are very cheap now ~130$ and can play any game at pretty much all high settings. im running a 9500pro and its playing everygame out there on medium settings. a 9800pro can be had at around 100$ but is 2 gens old.
if i was in your position get the p4 and a 6600gt 128mb agp and you will be set for a while the 7300GS or the 7300what ever are in im view the worst cards out there they are 1.64bit 2.4 pipelines 3.to expensive for what they do. http://www.opencircuits.net/articles.php?id=58 i even wrote an article on how bad they look and propably will perform.

7300GS should not be considered for a gaming machine. The card is more for people looking for a good bussiness computer video cards that has some of the benfits of the 7XXX series like hardware base video decoding.
A budget gamer in my eyes should not go lower then a x1600pro which can be gotten for about $110 these days. This is not what I recommend for gaming but rather the lowest I would even consider going on a new gaming machine.

i wouldnt even consider getting the new gen cards cause they dont push the boundires unless u get a 7800gtx or higher or a x1900xt.
the last gen top cards will drop in price (x800xl,6800,6800gt,6600gt) and will be a better budget to play all the games with awsome settings

I would keep the case and drives, and memory but buy an AMD setup (mobo bundled with CPU PCIe) and get an nVIDA 7600GT. Then sell the old intel stuff you have. This would really get the frame rates up because you would get getting better frames not only from the CPU but the GPU also.
