Hi!
I am experiencing a really weird problem on my Inspiron. It occurred suddenly after I had moved the laptop (meaning I didn't just install a new driver or so..). The computer will only rarely start XP using the normal startup, it useually crashes when running the video driver. If it makes it through the login screen it crashes within a couple of minutes saying that the nv4_disp stopped working. I have tried a bunch of different drivers and versions - no luck. I have tried removing the video card (from motherboard) and reattaching it, which restarts the card in some way. Works for ten minutes, and then crashes. The computer works in Safe mode, but sometimes the top 2"s of the desktop is displayed in the bottom of the screen below the taskbar. Does anyone have a clue whats going on? The problem seems a bit like the problem "Arloey" was having with his PC in september (posted on this forum, search for Inspiron 8200), just that this is another video card. Could it be the Flex cable? Is it the video card? Something else? Any help would be appreciated! Thx!! |
