Fps low in games, Video card problem?

Hi,

Alright well I play Diablo II LOD. When I first got my new computer d2 worked perfectly, 270+ fps (The more the better) and around 78 ping. Then a few weeks ago I just had around 40-50 fps but my ping still stayed the same so that ruled out a internet issue.

Yesterday I wiped everything and reformatted my computer, I reinstalled everything and d2 got a LITTLE bit better.

The problem is my fps (Frames per second) is REALLY low. My ping is fine but im just not getting the 270+ fps I use to have.

I wiped everything so viruses couldnt be the problem, MY internet is fine because my ping stays the same and I even tried a direct connection and I was still at low fps. It could possibly be Battle.Net servers but Im not sure, My friends dont really have the same problem but there is quite a bit of lag going around on it.

Also if u were interested, d2 requires the following specs:

D2 SPECS:

Windows 2000, XP, ME, and NT 4.0 sp 5 or greater
Pentium 233 or equivalent
64MB Ram
800 MB available HD space
28.kbps Internet
At least 8 MB Video Ram

MY COMPUTER SPECS:

Pro-star/Mtech Laptop
1 Gig of Ram
3.4 GHZ Processor
128 MB Video card
Broadband DSL Internet
80GB HD

As you can see, my computer exceeds the requirements for d2. It cant possibly be my video card because u can play d2 with a 64MB video card. And it couldnt be because it worked PERFECTLY when I first got my computer (Month ago).

Anyone possibly know the problem and give me a solution. Is it my video card??

Thanks

FPS doesn't matter much above 60 because that's the most the eye can perceive.

Hi,
Could be you have a problem with heat. Have you removed dust inside the computer recently? Download SensorsView. Please post back with the temperatures.
