Just before i start i want you to know that i'm not really that in tune about computer stuff, but i know the basics.
Since buying a radeon 9800 video card to keep up with newer games i have been having a problem. Whenever i play a game (mainly newer games) the pixels get little gray boxes instead of color and what not, it looks like little sprinkles almost and there are little cones or sheets of stretch things like a crane in BF 2 or water in WoW (looks like a whirlpool without the whirl) and i just wanted to figure out why its doing this, i've downloaded everything i could from radeon, restarted, lowered all the graphic settings to 0, got Direct X 9c and nothing works! It really destroys the point of playing a game if all you can see are gray boxes, a tiny bit of color, and stretched pixels in the shape of cones. It may have nothing to do with the video card or drivers, i would really like to find out though. Here are some screens i took while playing civ 4 and battlefield 2: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi,
My suggestion would be to uninstall those drivers and try the Omega drivers. I have that card and find that the Omega drivers just do a better job overall: http://www.omegadrivers.net/
