RivaTuner and My graphics card
I have Rivatuner and I want to overclock my GeForce 4 MX420 graphics card but I do not know how much I should overclock it. I overclocked it once and I think I overclocked it too much and when I played a game weird, funny, colors started flashing.

When overclocking most stuff you just start low and work your way up, and every step you run test, for example Futuremark's 3dMark software. An as long as your running stable your good. It is going to be something your going to have to play with. Just remember overclocking can lessen your video card's life.

Well, I've had this computer for about 3-4 years. It has it's ups and downs but when the time comes and this ole piece of metal fails I do think its time to get a new graphics card or computer. So when my monitor blinks like every 10 sec. after I overclock does that mean I overclocked it too much? My current settings are:Core Clock Frequency:319 Mhz, and Memory Clock Frequency:332 Mhz. Defaults were: Core:250,Memory:332

Well blinking isn't a good thing, and when overclocking a video card memory has a major effect on performance. If I was to start overclocking it I'd take it at 25mhz steps for the core and 33mhz steps for the memory(or less).

That is just my preference, it's not a set standard. Once you have it there do some testing if it is good then bump it up a little higher. An if it doesn't like going higher bump it back down. Also you can do the core and memory speeds independently and not at the same time. Again that is just my recommendation.
