My System

PCI-E 8x BUS

I have geforce 6600GT, pci-e 16x, or so it the motherboard manufacturer says. I go into the nvidia display options, and it reports it's only running pci-e 8x, instead of 16x. I feel I am losing performance, and it should have more bandwidth than that.

^First mobo

Video Card:

I only use 1 card, so it's not SLi running two in 8x. But the BUS speed isn't what it should be supposedly.

Geforce 6600GT
Nforce 4 SLi Epox Mobo
AMD 64 3500+

You might have the motherboard set to SLi mode. Even if there is only one card pluged in, it will still split the PCI-e x16 to 2x PCI-e x8.
Check the small adapter card between the two PCI-e slots is set to single or standard mode, and not SLi.

Apparently I had that card that's goes in between the 2 sli cards, set to SLi mode when I only have 1 card. I just flipped the card around and that's all folks.
