Radeon 9550 256 AGP card - keep it...or return it?

My first time here. I wanted to try buying a video card to see if my system would show some signs of relief from loading video into my Nuendo 3.2 program, so I went to Comp USA and was sold the Radeon 9550 256 mb AGP card. I want to add that I have no problems loading video into my Adobe Premier Elements program for editing, first. I have NOT installed the card yet, but I'm noticing a few unhappy users here. I know the card, is below mid level but does this card or company have a reputation for problems? Because something else with the same quality and NO problems... would be a better choice for me. What do you recomend? This is about a $125 card... I got it on sale for $79 bucks. Is there anything in the $125 range that's better than this one? Thanks, Andy

Well Radeon is the card design, to tell if its high quality or not you need to tell us who made it. IE my card is a Geforce design, but its manufactured by Winfast.
Secondly, if its video editing your into, a CPU or RAM upgrade will be more usefull than a graphics card update. The graphics card is used more for 2D/3D rendering, not video editing. It will only help your computer when playing games, not much else really.

Anyway, as for the card itself, it seems like a good price for the card model. As I said, the only way to tell if its a high quality model is to list who the manufacturer is, the Radeon 9550 was made by loads of companies, and they are all a bit different, just following the basic model design.

Jamie's right. The video card will do nothing for your PC's performance with video editing. Only a faster CPU and more RAM will help in that area.

I don't know how good of a card the 9550 is, but like the others said, it won't help with video editing.

However, if you want a better video card to play games, try a
eVGA 6600GT for $119 after MIR
or
9800 Pro for $104

Check out this Video Card Comparison The 9550 isn't even listed.

As you can see, the 6600GT is much better then the 9800 Pro.
