Help Please

I just got a Gateway computer with these specs and had a couple questions.

First: I want to update the vid card and we were given a Stealth Radeon 9250 256 MB DDR. Is this better than the vid card in my computer? If it is not, could you please tell me a good vid card in the $100-$200 range?

Second, i want to update the ram but dont know how much the mother board can handle. Any help with these questions would be appreciated

Your new graphics card is much bette than what you currently are using. The computer also supports upto 4gb of DDR RAM... just make sure if upgrading to try and get PC3200 (400MHz) RAM, as at the moment you have 512mb PC3200 RAM and if you get any slower it will be a waste really. Not any noticable price difference anyway.

THanks, just one more question...

Well 2 actually, so you say go and buy 9c3200 ram, how many sticks would buy and would you replace the original sticks with the new 9c3200?

And for the power supply, how could i increase it?

As for RAM, people seem to say its best to have either 1 stick, or 2 identical ones, though keeping the current stick and adding 1 new wont be 'bad'.

As for power supply, just but a new, more powerfull one :P
Check what you have first, it might be enough.
If you open the left side panel of the computer, the PSU (power supply unit) is the box at the top and back, where the power lead connects. It should have a sticker on the side your looking at telling you info about it. Check what Watts it is rated upto, usually displayed in big, something like 350w, 400w, eg...

Let us know what it is, and we can make a suggestion on an upgrade.

The 9250 isnt to bad a card, but the 6800GS is so much better :P
Also I always thought Geforce cards were better than ATI...
