Exclamation nVidia GeForce 6600

hey,

i just got a new video card for my machine, and I install the drivers and all and it's working great. Then a couple minutes later I get pop-up saying:

Problem Report

The NVIDIA System Sentinel is reporting that the NVIDIA-powered graphics card is not receiving sufficient power.

To protect your hardware from potenial damage or causing a potential system lockup, the graphics processor has lowered its performance to a level that allows continued safe operations.

------------------

okay... not good. I want to do some gaming with a better res than 800 x 600 16 bit...

I have a 400W (500W peak load) power supply (shouldn't this be able to run it??)

I just got it today.. and the guy at tiger direct that was a gamer said that a 400W power supply would work fine...

Just a few facts -

I have 3/4 computers in the same room that are on several expansion adapters (i have 2 wall outlets with 2 ports each in them) one has a normal 2 port outlet plugged into a 6 port expander and from the 6 port expansion it goes to another expansion port. (the same is on the other wall outlet)

Windows XP Home SP2

512MB RAM

Athlon 3000+ (2.17 GHz)

any help will be greatly appreciated!

i agree with the other post. if your power supply is a generic brand, then it still wont work as good as the reputable brands such as antec or enermax. pcpowercooling is another good brand to get.
