onboard grapics

does a genral vidoe card have the same amount of power as onboard graphics?
Because i want to buy a game which i need a agp video card but i only have onboard graphics. And where do i find the name of my graphics card so i can post it so some people might know if it will work.

alright maybe i have something that might help. i have a spare good video card. gforce 2mx (is it good?) tho my dad tried to install it once but couldent turn off the onboard graphics. so how do i do that.

Usually in the BIOS there will be an integrated devices (or something along those lines) where you should find the on-board video [enable] or [disable].

on some when you insert the graphics card it auto disables the onboard

Which makes be believe that it is not auto disabled.
