no response with new video card
Just bought an AGP Geforce 6600 256mb by Chaintech..I put it in slot ..seated firmly w/ power connected to it..and i get no response..when i turn on pc..
I'm runnin a geforce 4200TI 128 right now..and its working fine as usual. Theh 6600 is a 1.5 v so I know it should work..I called chaintech, they said it should work with my Soyo Kt600 plus mobo...they told me to wipe Cmos out..and try it.. My question is..should I reset Cmos..what will happen, I don't want to lose anything..will it work? will Winows boot right up? thanks for help..

If you reset the cmos you will lose any cpu overclocking settings and your non default setup parameters and you will lose you system time. (unless you have been in the bios to enter settings then you have nothing to worry about except setting the time on your comp again).

Sound like you may have a DOA card, Like it has been said they share drivers.
Resetting the Cmos would not hurt anything. You might want to go into the bios and see what the vga setting are If they are set for 4X, 8X and if it has an auto try that. ![]() Oh and while you are in the bios you can always select default setting and try that.
