LCD Buyer guide request
I have been thinking about buying a LCD TV of 23"-27" to work with my PC. The main reason I would like to get a LCD monitor is obvious desk space savings. I currently have a 23" CRT which takes up a lot of space. If I wanted to settle for a 19" monitor and loose size, I wouldn't be writing this post.
I have a radeon 9600XT vid card w/128mb ddr, vga+tv+dvi I am mostly concerned with picking the right LCD TV that would have a clear picture. I am just not sure what to look for in a LCD TV/Monitor's specs that would work well. Can anyone offer opinions on what I should be looking for in order to meet my needs? Offer opinion on a LCD with the following specs: Screen Size: 26 inch Widescreen LCD HD TV Pixel Pitch: 0.018 in x 0.018 in Display Color: 16.7M Max. Resolution: 1280 x 720 Brightness: 500cd/m2 Contrast Ratio: 500:1 Response Time: Tr: 15ms / Tf: 10ms Wide Viewing Angle: H: +85º/-85º, V: +85º/-85º PIP(Picture In Picture) PBP(Picture By Picture) Slit Screen TV Tuner: NTSC-M/M System 181 Channels CATV TV Support Display: SDTV: 480i, EDTV: 480p, HDTV: 720p/1080i TV Decipher Function: V-Chip, Closed Caption 1 S-Video 2 Composite Video Input 2 Component(Y/Cb/Cr, Y/Pb/Pr) 5 Audio Input AV (L/R) 1 D-Sub Input 1 DVI Input 1 PC Audio In 1 Composite Video Output 1 Audio Output AV (L/R) 1 Earphone Jack 1 Subwoofer Output Plug & Play: VESA DDC 1/2B |

I would be skeptical of a screen that big that can only display up to 1280x720. My 17'' CRT can go all the way up to 1600x1200.
Plus the overall quality of most inexpensive LCD's is bad. Color is off, the latency is usually noticeable.

Hmm, that resolution would be rather difficult to work with. 1280x720 may sound big but it's really not. You could possibly do 2 640x720 displays in a split-panel configuration but why? You'd still be losing a ton of working area. I'd go with something that isn't all HD or widescreen and uses true 3:4 resolutions.
