Problem with my graphic card

I have an old gateway laptop. It's about 3 or 4 years old. It has an internal graphics card. It's a Radeon IGP 345M if that helps.

It's not the best graphic card but it could get the job done when playing computer games such as Empire Earth and Rome Total War. Just last week i formatted by laptop because i got a bad virus that i couldn't get rid of it, now it's finally gone. Now for some reason my laptop has been lacking performance.

Empire Earth doesn't work at all-Rome Total War still works but the graphics are so bad. It's not that i expected a high quality graphic but the graphic is really bad. Before i formatted my laptop i could still play Rome Total War and Empire Earth with no problem but of course i didn't get the best graphic out of it andnow it doesn't work at all.

I've updated and reinstalled my drivers from Gateway website which were specific for my model but it still doesn't work. I even tried to format my computer 3 times and still to no vail. I've checked for spyware and virus. I defrag my hard drive atleast 3 times a week.

I think there's something else wrong though. Anybody have any advice?

also try install the latest version of directx and see if that helps at all.
