random Rebooting

Somebody told me it sounds like a video card problem, but i wanted to ask you guys for any ideas. Happens when i play games. Whether diablo2 or FFXI
But my screen will flash to the Blue Screen of death for like 1 second at most and then reboot. Sometimes i can go all night and no reboots; sometimes it will reboot once i play the game for few minutes. As far as i know im up to date on drivers, Card is Geforce4 TI 4600 (P4 2.8ghz 1GB ram)
Just any input would be appreciated for any kinda things i could try to test

Hi,

It very well could be a video card problem, but also could be a memory problem, a power supply problem, or an overheating problem. Why not monitor the temps and voltages and see what you have there first. If that does not work, then we might look at a memory test.

You might would want to list more about your computer by listing specs of the equipment you are using. (Like CPU, motherboard, power supply brand and watts, video card, etc)

Here are a couple of great program(s) to monitor heat and voltages if you don't have an onboard program:

Speedfan will tell you the temperatures and a whole lot more. It's free

or

I'd also recommend Motherboard Monitor 5, which can be found below: You do need to know that support for this product has been discontinued, but it is still available in the lastest form with the link below:

Yes i actually keep my side panel open and have a fan blowing in. In my opinion i think it helps but will still reboot on occasions. I d/l the speedfan program little confused at the moment but i guess ill try to read somethin on it as to realize what exactly im lookin at. It listed fan1 @2700 rpm but 0 for fan 2 & 3. Is that only the fan on the processor cause theres the fan onthe back panel and a fan on the front panel of the pc?

I actually just bought this power supply like a month ago because my old one quit working.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...p?Sku=D15-1014

Oh and on this speedfan program it reads
temp1= 30-34C
temp2= 127C doesnt change and has a flame beside it??
temp3= -55C doesnt change
HD = 28-29
temp1=40
Does that make sense to anyone on the readings?

has been doin this since about over a year now actually, which is about as long as ive had this pc. Ive just kinda just dealt wiht the problem by ignoring it as that it wasnt all the big of a problem and only seems to do it on games.
Just annoying sometimes. The power supply is about a month old. My system isnt overclocked as far as i know. I dont know how to change that stuff honestly so it the way it came when i bought it off ebay. So im not sure either what you meant by "belark"

Everything seems pretty normal except the 127C is in the danger (danger of harming something) zone and 55C is excessive if you are talking about an at-rest computer. You really need to tell us what motherboard you have, what CPU, what case cooling, where fans are, what direction they are pointing, etc. Tell us also about your CPU fan, blowing down or up???? Did you use ARtic Silver to put this together (cup and heatsink) or what kind of thermal pad did you use between them??? If our board is reporting actual temps, then I would be very concerned about running this unit until we get more information to help you with.
