video card problems

hello, i have a Geforce FX 5700 LE installed on a pentium 4 (service pack 2)2.40 ghz 128 mb ram system thr problem is that it makes my system run slow and most of the games dont work eitherand yeah also about the clour it keeps on changing maybe its a compatability problem its on a msi motherboard can u help please

What do you mean by games dont work? They just dont start or they crash? Also if you ever receive error message, what are they?

I assume you have installed latest drivers and directX 9.0c?

please provide more info in order for us to help you out. what version of nvidia drivers are you running and have you tried changing videocard drivers? if not try that and see if it helps. what directx version are you running? do you get any errors? sorry if im annoying you with my questions but my point is, please provide a bit more info.

im sorrry i should have given u more details anyway its not 128 mb ram its 512 the only error it gives is that U MUST INSTALL THE NEW DRIVERS but when i restart colours change ,video doesnt work properly games dont crash they run too slow ive got direct x 9.0 on my computer i dunno about the drivers i just know the model number which is nVIDIA 5700LE tell me if u need more information

I dont keep track of video card models and all but is the Geforce FX 5700 LE AGP? and whats the size of it? 256? 128?

i agree that 128 mb ram is too low. Most of the popular games ask 256 mb- 512 mb as a minimum requirement. I would strongly recommend an upgrade.

Your problem playing videos is caused by a bug in the 77.72 NVIDIA drivers. The solution which works for most people is:

1) Go to the NVIDIA control panel
2) Go to the "Color Correction" page
3) Set "Apply color changes to:" to "All"
4) Set "Color Profile:" to "Advanced mode"
5) Click "Restore Defaults"
6) Click "Apply"

You are running an FX5700LE 128MB which probably means that it has 64 bit video RAM (detailed explanation here). Your memory bandwidth is probably 3.2GB/sec. That means it's a relatively slow video card which is causing your lack of speed in games. Short of getting a faster video card there's not a lot you can do about it other than reduce the screen resolution when you're playing games. To be sure that it's just your video card which is the problem you can download 3DMark and run the benchmark. The newer versions of that benchmark have a facility which allows you to compare your benchmark score online with other people who have similar hardware. You can use that to tell if your hardware is running at full speed.
