Help? MPEG = Very high contrast?

After installing nVidias latest drivers (the only thing I can think of which may have caused the problem), my video playback in both DivX and WMP10 has been very high in contrast.

I checked all the WMP options, and no, they're normal (reducing the brightness/contrast still won't make the video look "normal")

I uninstalled DivX (and installed the newer version) and WMP, to no avail. Tried 2-3 different codec packs, hoping something would overwrite and fix the problem.

I installed an XviD binary, and it was normal for a while (watched 1 video ok), I check a few mins later (after rebooting) and its back to high contrast

Any suggestions

My System

There is a problem playing videos that seems to have happened to lots of people with the 77.72 drivers. The solution which works for most people is:

go to the nvidia control panel
color correction
color profile: advanced mode
apply color changes to: all
hit apply

Thanks a lot.

I just found that a few hours after I posted here. The gamma is set higher than default for some reason on the overlay

Had to go to "All", hit default and applied.
