Geforce 5200 LE Messing with my Media\Video Playback
HEy guys i currently have a hp vectra vl600
p3 600 384 rdram win xp pro before this i used an geforce2 mx400 and when i played media files, video files, avi files and i was able to play these types of files fine no problem. I recently decided to upgrade to a 5200 LE. So at first i just plugged in the card into my 4x agp slot. I installed the latest drivers from the nvidia website. However i noticed that when i played media on windows media player, my dvds, or my divx player, or even the vlc media player which basically plays anything i got very bright picture, and lots of square like patches. Almost like when you dont have the right codec. Problem is i have all the correct codecs installed. Whats weird is that i can even play games like World of Warcraft no problem, just media files are having trouble. What i did was reformat to see if it was prior configs that might have been messing with it. Still same result. Can anyone tell me if im missing some driver, codec, etc? Anyone else have this problem?> Thanks Last edited by matasuzuka; 07-11-2005 at 03:29 PM. |

There is a problem playing videos that seems to have happened to lots of people with the latest NVIDIA drivers. The solution which works for most people is:
go to the nvidia control panel color correction color profile: advanced mode apply color changes to: all hit apply |
