nv4_disp.dll error when closing game!
I play World of Warcraft, and as many people know, this game hogs every ounce of computer resources possible. Recently when exiting hte game, I get the dreaded BSOD (blue screen) where it dumps the physical memory to the disk or whatever, and am forced to restart my computer.
A few weeks ago I tested a video card on this computer, a 6800GT (agp slot). I had to return it for other reasons, so I put my Geforce4 Ti 4200 back in and things worked fine. It's only been since recently (about 3 weeks ago) that this error started occurring. I'm not sure how to fix it as there are many different types of problems that spawn off this. I've tried installing new drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled the game, virus scan, all the good stuff, but it still happens. Any ideas on a possible fix? I'm on the verge of reformatting :( Edit: this doesn't happen all the time, only about 75% of the time. Last edited by Nubli; 07-09-2005 at 03:47 AM. |

IMO, i think that the problem is the video drivers. Regardless of how many times you update or switch cards, problems can still occur unless you correctly flush the old drivers out before installing new ones. Try searching NVidia's site for a driver uninstallation. I believe ATI's site also has a utility for uninstalling NVidia drivers for those of use who made the switch. After uninstalling, reinstall the latest drivers and see if that helps.
