Help me..

I got a Sapphire Radeon 9600 atlantis 128 mb video card mainly for the tv out function but i cannot seem to figure it out. i go to display properties then to settings and it shows monitor 1 and 2. Monitor 1 does everything i tell it to but monitor 2 acts like there is nothing there at all even though the tv is plugged in to it. Theres a thing to check that says extend my windows desktob onto this monitor and everytime i click that when i hit apply it goes back to the way it was and is no longer checked. How would i fix this problem im having... if you can understand my problem?

That second monitor shows up whether it is recognized or not because your video card has two outputs not counting the TV. You really need to check in catalyst control center and check the displays to see if the TV is being recognized. If the TV isn't showing up then make sure you've the cables plugged in properly. I was playing with the TV output on my 9700 Pro and it didn't show up when I used the wrong S-Video to composite adapter. If you're using composite instead of S-Video then make sure to use the converter which came with the video card. If it still doesn't show up then try the "Force TV Detection" button. According to ATI:

Force TV Detection

Some TV sets may use non-standard inputs resulting in the TV enable button continuing to stay grayed out in the ATI Displays tab. This issue is address by a Troubleshoot button that is now available. This button allows the user to force detection of their TV. However, features that rely on automatic detection of the TV will not be supported on the TV display.
In the Catalyst control center it's under "Display Options". In my case as long as I used the correct cables the TV was automatically detected and mirrored my power up screens.
