I'm having a problem with my newly purchased nVidia GeForce 6600 graphics card. I'm trying to use the TV-Out function, which worked with my old GeForce 4 MX 420. When I go to control panel>display>settings>advanced>GeForce 6600>nView Display Settings and then right click on the big TV (right next to the big monitor, which is my primary display) and click on Device Adjustments, a menu comes up with Brightness, Contrast, Overdrive, Flicker Filter, and Saturation. Here's where the problems start.
The default saturation is set too high, as in, the slider isn't in the middle. But who cares, I can just set it back low again. So I set my saturation to my desired level, and click OK. My TV looks much better now that the rediculously set saturation is fixed. HOWEVER, everytime my TV goes black and flickers (ie, when you make a video fullscreen, or start a game like Half-Life 2 or Warcraft 3, the screen goes black, flickers a couple of times, and the game starts) the default settings come back on the TV, and the saturation is back up to its too-high default settings. So I minimize whatever it is I'm playing/watching, and check my settings. Everything's exactly how I left it, but it doesn't realize that until I refresh the values (ie: click on my saturation slider). I am using: Windows XP Professional SP2 nVidia GeForce 6600 Latest GeForce drivers S-Video Output Big Screen TV (Projection, I believe. not a glass front, screen has tiny vertical lines protruding from it) Hopefully the attached pictures will help. for some reason I can't find wherever the heck the edit button is on my last post, even though I edited it yesterday but,
I fixed the problem. I uninstalled the current display drivers (77.72 incase anyone else has this poroblem), and restarted, then installed 71.89 display drivers, and restarted, and now the settings stay. Thanks! |
