Inno3D Tornado GeForce FX 5200 problem

Hi,

When ever I play a game with this graphics card the screen goes all red. The only game this does not happen with is Battlefield 1942 and Red Alert. I'm using the 61.76 drivers and I have used the more up to date ones without much luck either.

My system specs are:

AMD Athlon 1GHz
Asus A7V Motherboard
680mb SD RAM

I'm using a TFT LCD monitor and when playing the game without a flat screen monitor just a normal one the redness seems to happen less often or if it does happen it corrects itself about 30 seconds later.

I've tried using Driver cleaner and do what it said but I still have not had any luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your motherboard doesnt support AGP 8X and the card seems to be up to 8X. Check in your bios if your AGP is at 3.0. That would be the first thing to try.

Post feedback please.

Thanks for the reply but how do you check if my AGP is 3.0? I've been looking around in the bios settings but haven't found much info yet.

Check Here

I suggest you read the whole thing because its very instructive. Then about halfway you should see an explanation on how to enable fastwrite and set AGP multiplier with a GeForce card. Good luck.

Ok, thanks a lot godspeeed you have been a great help. That page you gave me was very helpful and I found that disabling Fast write fixed my problem.

Thanks again!

Sorry to bring this post up again but I can't help but look at the [resolved] part in the subject. When I disabled fast writes I "thought" I had fixed. Until the next day I go to play a game and to find the same symptoms.

From then I have actually found the proper fix and I thought it would help anyone looking for advice on fixing the fx 5200 problem.

By going to that site godspeed gave me it told me that lowering the AGP speed helps. I couldn't lower the AGP speeds by using CoolBits as the value kept on being reset to 4x.

What I did for fixing an Asus A7V motherboard issue with the Geforce FX 5200 was download and flash the latest BIOS settings from asus.com. Then in the bios settings I set the AGP speed to 2x. Which makes game much more stable and now I can run games fine!

Hope this helps and thanks again for giving me the info godspeed.
