i just don't understand

can anyone pleeeeese help me? when i start playing games like sims2 or rct3 the screen goes black and i get no signal input message on my screen. i have to reboot before it starts again. i've tried another moniter on my computer and it still does it so i don't think it's that.i've just updated drivers on my video card, that seems fine with every thing else! before anybody replies, i don't understand a lot of technical jargon so please try and make it real easy for me

Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for the game?

What card are you using? what mortherboard are you using? I had the same problem and it was due to AGP8X being unstable on my computer, if this is the case for you refer to this thread .

i do have the min. requirements for the game. I'm not sure about the drivers though. in my device manager i press update drivers and it usually comes up with can't find any better ones that i've already got, does that mean there are none or that i have to look else where? if so where. i'm soooooooooooooo confused.

What kind of video card do you have? The website of the company that makes them, often has updated drivers which work significantly better than the ones you are using.

If you know what card you are using we can link you directly to the driver.

Sounds like a possible scan range issue. Did you ever do anything to manually tweak your refresh rates?

I had the same problem and many people experience this problem. Most of the time its due to fastwrite or AGP multiplier.
