Replacing my integrated graphics.
Hello,
I recently purchased an agp graphics card (nVidia GeForce FX 5200) to replace my integrated card (s3 ProSavage DDR). Problem is, I can't get my PC to recognize I've installed it. I've installed the latest drivers, disabled my integrated card using the control panel, changed graphical output from PCI to AGP/Output using the BIOS, and assorted combinations of all the above, but no matter what, when I plug my monitor into the AGP out, my moniter receives no data. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Etharion PS. If this has come up before, I apologize, but a brief search only turned up tangentally related stuff. |

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but that didn't work.
I uninstalled my drivers, disabled the integrated card, restarted in VGA mode, installed the drivers (apparently succesfully), and rebooted, but no luck. Is there something I'm missing? I didn't deactivate my antivirus, but that's because I'm pretty sure it's deactivated anyway, and that computer isn't connected to the web anyway. |

Actually dai, you can't try it in any other slots because it's an agp card
and no boards that I know of have more than 1 agp slot. There is one thing to check though...you might want to check that the AGP lock is locked. Usually when you install an agp card there is a little lock that will "lock" the card. I have known cards not to work if this wasn't in place so check it out if/when you reseat it.
