Chaintech 6600GT AGP making periodic fan noises (rumbling?)
Hello just yesterday I recieved my chaintech 6600GT AGP video card and I installed it and every 5-10 seconds the fan goes quiet then makes a rumbling sound that can be very audible, I know for a fact the fan is still running even when its quiet...Could this be a cause of a loose heatsink?
If this is the case, how exactly can I tighten it? ![]() Thanks in advance. Last edited by xp2400+; 05-21-2005 at 01:39 PM. |

I've only heard of failing fans that rumble. As fra as tightening goes you can't do much. The HSF is held down by spring tension instead of bolts.
