GeForce 5200fx problems..
computer specs:
Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 760 mb ram 3.2ghz celeron hp pavilion 061 I just restored my computer, before that my video card was working fine ( i added a pci video card and disabled my onboard one ) and now everytime i try and use the PCI video card i get to the windows xp splash screen then the monitor goes completely black and sits there. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and removing them but nothing seems to work. |

hmmm......so let me get this straight, the problem starting to happen when you installed the pci videocard in but before that, the computer was fine? correct?
if so, did you uninstall the drivers for the onboard video first before you pop in the pci videocard? if tap F8 and choose last good configuration and see if you can get into windows. if not try going to safe and see if you can get into safe mode. then in safe mode, try and see if you can get online and download "driver cleaner" from www.majorgeeks.com then follow the instructions on how to properly uninstall the current videocard drivers you have right now so you can install new ones. see if that fixes the problem. also if you can, try your videocard in another working computer and test if your videocard is a DOA. remember to uninstall the videocard drivers for that computer before you pop in yours. good luck |
