Graphical Glitching with GeForce FX5600
I have an Inno3d GeForce FX5600 in my computer however it doesn't work properly. From anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour whilst I am playing 3D games, for example Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations, Half Life 2, the screen freezes for around 5 seconds then resumes play, however the textures are now ripped and full of black spots.
Here is a screenshot of the problem http://img143.echo.cx/img143/2859/glitch1xt.jpg . In some cases some of the game disappears such as the gun, like in the image above. I have the latest 71.89 Nvidia drivers. The only way to fix it is to restart the computer. Thanks in advance for any help. |

I am wondering if the card might be overheating.
Open your case and take the card out and closely inspect it. Make sure the heatsink is mounted properly and makes contact with the GPU and memory chips (if its designed to cover them). If the card has a fan make sure its running. Then have a big house fan blow in the case. See if this makes a difference - the errors now take longer to appear or disappear completely. Could you also list the rest of your system specifications including power supply and all add ins ?
