ATI 9500 Pro + ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe = Blank Screen
I have a self built computer with an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard and an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro Videocard. The computer worked wthout a hitch for one year. Suddenly and with increasing frequency, the computer screen goes blank while using graphic-intensive programs (like photoshop). Sometimes the screen would not come on at all. Sometimes I actually get an 'infinite loop' warning after a brief flicker. It is getting worse and I need a fix. I've read that this is a persistent problem with these two pieces of hardware. Should I flash the bios / update it? Is it a Mobo / Graphic card compatibilty issue? No power problems - I think, No driver issues (updated recently). Short of buying a new graphic card, what can I do?
