Help-AIW ATI 9800 Pro-No input signal
I have been using a AIW ATI 9800 Pro card for 2 months now and things were fine until this week, when I started getting "No input signal, going into power save mode" I don't see any BIOS POST messages and no video at all.
My config, ASUS P4P800-E deluxe XMS Corsair- 2 x 512 MB Maxtor 40 GB 5400 Hard drive ATI AIW 9800 PRO Thermaltake silent power 480Watts Sony flate panel with DVI and HD15 input I have tried connecting the HD15 cable also, no input signal, but the fan on the videocard is running. I swapped it for a different video card-old gforce mx440, then I see video, Does this mean I burnt my video card ? Any ideas to fix it ?? thanks I opened a ticket in ATI customer support, no replies back and I noticed that they don't have a too free number for their customer support. !!! Have you tried all the "usual" steps yet - reseating the card, checking all the connections, cables etc.
Make sure there is no dust in the AGP slot. Maybe clean the pins with some high percentage isopropyl alcohol. To know for sure if the card is damaged (or something else is causing this problem - motherboard, psu etc) i would take the card to a friend to try it in their PC - or the local PC shop.

ATI AIW 9800 Pro No Input signal
Thanks Sarkast,
I tried reseating it poperly, it look like it's locking into the slot fine, Also I tried it on a different computer -- same result-- No input signal , going into power save mode. I have tried bothe DVI connection as well as the hd15 connection-- same results. I am kinda concerned, wat could have caused this--is there any out of range resolutions that happened ? It was working fine for couple of months-- I am not very pleased with the ATI support and their online help. One interesting observation, last nite I again tried it on m P4P800-E with 1 GB XMS memory. No video came from the display but "No input signal, going into power savemode", I gave up, removed the card and put my old nvidia 5200 and when bios cam up, it said overclocking failed- presee F2 to reset to default values-- So for some reason this video card is resetting something in the bios, maybe that's why nothing is coming. ANy ideas ? |
