New Video Card problem
Hi,
I recently purchased a Chaintech 6600 256mb AGP card to upgrade my existing AGP GeForce Ti4200. I removed the old card, installed the new, and powered on the machine, and I get no output to the monitor. I tried using both DVI and VGA connectors and got no output. I installed the old card back and everything worked. This is the second card that I have received which is having this problem... is there anything else I can do short of sending it back and getting yet another one? :/ They are both nVidia, so it should be the same driver, both AGP cards. Two in a row now and the same problem, no output image at all, nothing. I'm running XP. |

In a case like this (2 cards same problem) i'd start looking for something else causing the problem.
First of all - what is your power supply ? And did you plug in the additional power connector on the back of the card ? The question also is - are you able to see anything when the machine boots (BIOS etc) or is there absolutely no signal to your monitor at all. Because even if it starts up you still need to reinstall drivers in the windows envrioment - the fact that both cards are Nvidia doesnt matter.

Well, I feel like a complete idiot. I already RMA'ed one of these cards, and then upon closer inspection, I discovered that there was an additional power connector on the card itself.
It works fine now Thanks |

Not the first user to miss that, and likely not the last. I know I've seen this in the forums before.
