playing farcry/HL2...'no signal' geforce 6800le
Hi, new to this and not particularly tech minded so please go easy on me...
new system: shuttle SN95G5 athlon64 3800 win xp media centre 1024mb RAM 250gb HD 128mb geforce 6800le playing Farcry with 1.3 patch - plays well but at no specific time or point screen goes blank with a 'no signal' message and the fans step up a level. HL2 same problem but happens before game is fully loaded. Need to shut down by holding power button in and then switch on again. Unit straight out of the box- no tweaking/overclocking...checked BIOS fans set for smartfan and temp after crash/lockup 39 degrees. Any ideas? |

Yes - that sounds like:
a) the card is overheating b) you are underpowered. Try taking off the case sidepanel and let a fan blow into it - see if it still happens or it takes longer to happen? Whats your power supply (if its no name please read the output values off the side for all voltages) ?

The important values are +12V, 5V and 3.3V.

Resolved the problem!
Thanks for your help and advice with this... got so fed up with it after trying all the suggestions that I sent it back to MESH (the supplier). Duff graphics card! New one installed and now system flys through Farcry and HL2 at full res. Thanks again.
