AGP 8x
when I set my videocard to agp 8x and run high stress programs ie doom3 or half life 2 the video processor will cut out and wiat for the VPU to recover only to do again in the next few minutes. If I set the videocard down to 4x, however, the card works fine.
The card is meant to go at 8x it runs fine in other motherboards. I have the latest drivers. I have the latest bios update for my motherboard The video processor isn't over heating Specifications are... ECS KT600-A ATI Radeon 9600XT |

I wouldnt worry about it if it runs fine at 4x. The 9600XT can hardly use the bandwidth provided by the AGP 4x slot - so i doubt you are losing any performance by "only" having it run at 4x speeds.
Its actually a relatively common problem and even high end cards that are able to process much more data and are more bandwidth demanding (like the 6600s or 6800s) generally dont lose more than 5% performance when they have to be reduced to AGP4x speeds to achieve stability.
