Ddr Vs Ddr3

I have been looking for a good video card and to some up I wanted to get a BFG 6600 GT OC AGP because I dont wanna upgrade to PCI-E. While Browsing I couldnt find a price under 239.00 which is too high for me now. I am looking to play Counter Strike Source, and Half Life 2, and Wanted to play it without any choppy ness and good quality. While browsing for a cheaper card I found ASUS. 2 boards I was comparing as follows.

Asus 6600N TD with DDR 128 134$
Asus 6600N TD with DDR3 128 230$
I am also still thinking about waiting for that BFG 6600GT OC to fall below 200$.

Can Anyone Please give me thier opinion on this? Is the DDR 3 Really gonna be so much better? Right now I have a GF4 FX 5200 which is slowly giving out and I know wont be able to run these games.

Thank You

Leadtek nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT agp $187

That under $200 and would be a huge upgrade from the geforce 5200. Proberly perform almost as well if not as well as the bfg. The minor overclocking they do on the BFG wont make much of a difference.
