Re: OK Whats the best Video Card I can Get for my setup

Hi there,

I would stick with the 260. The P4 is an older CPU now so i would look at upgrading that first.

However you could go mad and buy a 295GTX ( or the ATI equivilant ) assuming you're PSU is large enough. However you're CPU would cause it to bottleneck.

Re: OK Whats the best Video Card I can Get for my setup

You are already very bottlenecked, a better graphics card would give you no benefit. I'm using a Radeon 4870 (comparable to GTX260) and I'm bottlenecked by my E2200, which is much better than the Pentium 4 you're using. Moving to an E8400 or some such would actually give you a bigger performance boost than a new graphics card.

Graphics cards
Strongest
Radeon 5970
Radeon 5870
GeForce GTX295
Radeon 4870x2
Radeon 5850
GeForce GTX285
Radeon 4850x2
GeForce GTX275
Radeon 4890
GeForce GTX260 216
Radeon 5770
Radeon 4870
GeForce GTX260 192
GeForce GTS250/9800GTX+
Radeon 5750
Radeon 4850
GeForce 9800GTX/8800GTX
Radeon 4770
GeForce 9800GT/8800GT
Radeon 4830

etc.
Weakest

Approximately, of course.

your right about the card so i will be replacing the CPU with this

intel Q9550= Core2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz Socket 775 Quad-Core 45nm Processor = 169.99

Provided you get that cpu , and a decent power supply the sky is the limit. But just don't expect to use that current power supply.

And they say chivalry is dead...

He offered this before I invited them to my 800 acer hunting land next weekend all payed for by me .I feel its the least I can do

Re: OK Whats the best Video Card I can Get for my setup

Antec isn't a good brand in power supply. We actually don't even recommend any of power supplies currently , simply because the efficiency isn't good and the amperage is also bad. You would be better off with a better brand power supply such as corsair , coolermaster , thermaltakes toughpower , silverstone , ect...

I'm actually surprised that antec is still powering a 260.

Only the Antec "trio" series were decent.

And even those weren't 80+ cert or had very good amperage. However I had one and it didn't give me any problems , I still wouldn't use em on this type of setup.
