PNY XLR8 no video
System:
Mobo - Abit An8 32x SLI updated to last bios CPU - AMD FX-55 not over clocked Ram- 2 gig OCZ platinum PSU - PC Power and cooling 750 Sound -onboard realtek Harddrive 36 gig raptor and a WD 250 IDE Microsoft Keyboard logitech G5 laser mouse USB OS XP home - SP2 installed. I posted in another forum about BSOD's and trying to figure out if it was my vid card or PSU. Decided to try some diagnostics today so I went up to Bestbuy and purchased PNY XLR8 1024mb. Opened it up and the first thing I noticed there was no power connector to the card. Manual says there is. Looked again up and down, no PSU connection. So I decided to put it in anyways. The monitor clicked when I connected it. I turned on my pc and no video. Computer was still continuing to boot, no post errors on the digital read out on my Mobo. Surfed the net and found several different versions of this card from PNY. Actually did find one just like mine that says no power connection needed. Is this card to new for my mobo or is my PSU on the way out? Is there something I need to set in the bios? |

Re: PNY XLR8 no video
If you go back be sure to get a different model card. If it's a 9800 with 1024mb and no power connector it's probably a cheap ddr2 model and wouldn't be much more powerful then a 9600. Might be cheaper to just get a 9600.
