ATI HD2600 pro 512Mb

Hi, I've had a look at the stickies but still am a bit confused.. I'm just wondering if the spare AGP ATI HD2600 pro that my friend has will be of any use in my ageing system.. Can anyone help?

You can give it a try , however , you will have to remove all of the nvidia drivers with driver cleaner first. The card also may not work in an older board like that.

Hi, ok thanks. What factors might stop it from working in my motherboard? FSB maybe?

Re: ATI HD2600 pro 512Mb

Newer agp cards use a pci-e conversion chip that older or cheap boards bios's sometimes do not support , the result is usually just a back screen with no post.
