Updating Nvidia drivers causes monitor to go black
Hi there,
I recently reformatted my computer and re-installed all the drivers that came on the disks I had. With the original ancient display drivers the monitor displays just fine. However, when I update to a subsequent display driver (i've tried many) the monitor displays the window startup then goes blank and says 'No signal' or words to that effect. The monitor is a Viewsonic va1912w-2 and my graphics card is a GeForce 7950 GX2. The issue might actual relate to my monitor. I'm not too sure to be honest. The monitor isn't recognised in device manager when i update the display drivers and none of the drivers for the monitor seem to work either. The driver disk for the monitor seems to have drivers for 1912w-3 but this doesnt install. I have tried downloading up to date monitor drivers but these dont work in conjunction with new display drivers either. Any help would be much appreciated! |
