Video card help
I just purchased stuff to build a new computer and I have assembled it together avoiding any static charge going to the parts.
Computer Specs: Case: Apevia X-Dreamer3 (Custom Built System) Motherboard: Asus M4A79XTD EVO Video Card: Sapphire 100296HDMI Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Crossfire ready PSU: Apevia Warlock 900W CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 140W Quad-Core Processor RAM: OCZ 3G (1G each 3 total)240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 5900 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Monitor: Hanns·G Hi-221DPB Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000 Temp wise for the bit it ran is about 29-30 degrees (Heat Sink for CPU) Problem: Everything works but, when it comes down to the Video Card and Monitor. I'm using both VGA and DVI-D cables, hooked them in (even re-checked) and hooked them into the video card. I didn't see any slot to hook anything into the video card from the PSU so I turned it on nothing happened on my monitor I got " No signal input please check video cable ". I re-checked the cables and everything was plugged in. This system is brand new I haven't had any existing video cards on it and there is no on-board (theres no video port to plug into). Not sure what else to do even contacted Sapphire they couldn't help much Tech couldn't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You |

The Apevia 900W is a low quality PSU, being in fact a 750W unit with a fictional label. It should still run your system though. But if you paid more than $100 for it I'd return it and buy something like the Corsair TX750W which, in an odd irony, could have been rated as a 900W.

Re: Video card help
Yeah it doesn't have a spare one which leads me to I picked the wrong PSU is what I'm thinking the 4-pin is in use with the 20-pin main plug don't think I can use it can I?. Fact that without that 4-pin it just won't go. Guessing I'm going to need a compatible PSU I'm figuring? Anyway I can tell which to get or which one to get?

Re: Video card help
With your setup you could go for a Corsair 650w and your system would be powered just fine.
Corsair 650w $100 after rebate $90 |

Re: Video card help
Take a look at the connectors coming from the power supply, often the 4 pin 12v. atx for you cpu looks like the 8 pin that it can be used as. It's probably a 4+4 and comes apart, depending if you need 4 pin or 8 pin cpu power.
