Dying video card
Machine specs
Abit An8 32 x 2 gig OCZ platinum AMD FX-55 PC Power and Cooling 750 watt Nvidia 7900 GS x 2 SLI XP Home SP 3 Driver 190.62 Was getting Machine_Check BSOD for awile. Ran all the checks. Pulled out both Vid cards and swapped them in alone. One works fine. The other boots up to XP logo then the screen slowly goes black and then BSOD. Problem solved but was just wondering what could be wrong with card causing the problems. It works alone without video drivers installed. Took the fan and heatsink off and cleaned everything. Fan works fine. Have them both in now, Sandra only recognizes the one card, reports the other slot empty. Power is connected to both cards along with abit SLI bridge and brace. This no big deal The other card is fine on its own. Just surprised the bad card works without the drivers. |

Re: Dying video card
I take back what I said. The supposedly good 7900 is now doing the same thing.
As soon as windows logo shows.....it fades out then BSOD. I Uninstalled the nvidia control panel in safe mode and it boots up fine. This is getting weird. I got this bad feeling my sweet PC Power and Cooling 750 is dying out on me.
