Problems with ATI Radeon 9800 pro
I just hooked up my PC after being in storage for about 4 months, and for some reason it can't seem to detect my card. First it tells me to install the necessary drivers, and when i try to install the latest drivers available I get a message saying,
"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software." I opened it up and the card is connected just fine as far as i can tell and i've never had any problems with it up until now. Is my motherboard shot or does anyone have an idea that could solve the problem? |

Re: Problems with ATI Radeon 9800 pro
This is a classic (had one of those a few years ago) great ATI card of the AGP type.
I would reseat it first of all, then enter the bios setup menu and see if you have AGP listed in the bios first so it isn't sending a signal to an onboard instead of the AGP card. If that does not work, then remove the card and try the onboard (be sure to set the onboard as first in the bios setup menu) and when you get it working, then enter the device manager, delete the AGP listed video card and shut down. Then, put the AGP card back in, reset the bios to have AGP listed first and try it again to see if it finds it.... If it does, then re-enter the appropriate drivers. When using this card, I found the Omega drivers to be the best. Post back with questions/concerns.
