Re: Monitor connection, help needed

Hi and welcome!

What is the make and model of the monitor the cable is attached to or with?

I'm not 100% sure what type of connector the picture represents. The picture you posted is a little blurry and it would be nice to see it from different angles too.

The picture you posted looks more like the printer side of a centronics cable rather than a monitor cable. I counted 18 connectors on the cable which would also be the number on a centronics cable too (18 x 2=36).

Is it the same on both ends?

Could you provide a better picture of the connector including the sides?

Possibly pictures of both ends if they are not the same?

Your typical monitor connectors are shown here:

Thank you very much!

Re: Monitor connection, help needed

I might have a been a proprietary cable for some other machine that wasn't a computer but used a display. It resembles a dms 59 plug but it isn't really. Does sorta look a like an old printer cable.

Re: Monitor connection, help needed

Hi.

It is an opendli interface.

It was a hi quaility interface before dvi took over the market.

It is no longer supported.

Re: Monitor connection, help needed

Hi and thank you!

I actually found a good reference for the connector types. It is located here:

http://www2.dvigear.com/connectivityreference.html

I also did a search for an adapter to see if they make one for VGA (HD-15) or for DVI. So far I have not turned up good references. However, what I have found references a MULTI adapter (two adapters) are needed to convert the signal.

If you are interested in trying something like that, please let me know and I will continue to search.

Thank you very much!

Re: Monitor connection, help needed

If you wouldn't mind looking that would be great. From what I have seen they offer fantastic 2d graphics and it's a beautifull looking monitor.

Basically if it will cost less than a new tft monitor I'm all for it.

Thankyou for taking an interest.
