INF Error Video driver not found ATI video card
Hello, i just bought an ATI Rage XL on ebay. My intention is to run dual monitors and when installing the drivers for the first time it reads the message, "INF error, Video Driver Not found" So after reading in many forums and such, i uninstalled the driver and rebooted. I then installed a standard VGA driver, as another error message later suggests doing, but it still doesn't work. BTW when i boot it firsts displays on the monitor using the AtI card, then goes to my onboard video card.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. System Specs: Dell Dimension 3100 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz 3.06 Ghz, 0.99 RAM the onboard video is an Intel 82915G/GV/9100GL Express Chipset Family hope that is all the right and needed info! |

Re: INF Error Video driver not found ATI video card
ok so i went into the Bios, and the options i have under video controllers is "onboard", or "Auto" in order to choose which one to be the primary. I want the monitor hooked up to the onboard to be the primary, so i selected onboard. Also, when i had it set to auto it would boot up with the one hooked to the ATI what should I do?

Re: INF Error Video driver not found ATI video card
ok heres the deal. I found out that if i choose "auto" in the Bios settings, that is enabling pci like you said. I had windows install the hardware automatically and then i went into display properties and the option for dual monitor extension was there. I thought I had tried that before but i had been checking in display properties with "onboard" selected i guess. Anyways, thank you for your help, it was actually quite usefull.
Thank You |
