9800GT and power supply
i currently have a cooler master extreme power plus 460W and soon ill be buying a 9800GT, just wondering whether it is enough to support it.
well ill give you guys the specs of my com, i dont think much power is being used up by the other parts. so i think the card might be able to work . Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3l core2 2.93 2gb geil black dragon 1066 (2x1gb) 250 sata hdd 12cm fan x1 9cm x1 cd-rom x1 thanks. |

Not it is not. The CM eXtreme power 460W would make a sh**** 350W power supply and I wouldn't run any system with a dedicated graphics card on it.

Don't even go there man. Even at 80% efficiency....
I am runnign a HUGE RISK with my setup and mine is a fake 500w from Cooler master. That 9800GT is going to burst your system. Upgrade NOW before you regret it.

A quality 550W, yes. As a guideline, if it costs less than ~$70 it probably isn't high enough quality for your rig.
