nVidia won't install/won't allow/won't reboot
Hi,
Forever and ever I've been unable to install new graphics drivers for the whole 1 and a half to 2 years I've been attempting it and have googled countless times many different combinations of my problems. First of all, when I attempt to install any new drivers the screen goes black about halfway through with a white line flashing in the top left. Basically this happened the first time I tried to install one back around 169ish. Stayed like that for well over an hour before I restarted in anger. I then have to as always reboot into safe mode, uninstall and reinstall the older ones. When I do manage to install the drivers (uninstall in safe mode, reboot into safe mode and install) when I reboot it gets past the Windows loading screen then glitches white very quickly then sits still doing nothing. The white glitch takes up roughly the whole screen. After that I'm forced to reboot safe mode uninstall reinstall old ones. This time I've uninstalled the drivers from the Add/Remove Programs and have been attempting to install new ones (191.07 as of this time) yet it keeps saying Access Denied or Failed to complete installation. Right now the only drive that DOES work is 178.13 which I think is from about July 2007 or so. I've a nVidia 9800GTX+ 1gb and would thoroughly like to use it properly without the graphics crashing out after about 3 minutes play. What do I do? I've got a new motherboard, ram, graphics card, hard drive since the first time I tried to install and failed and still it won't work. Thanks. |

Re: nVidia won't install/won't allow/won't reboot
AMD Phenom II X4 2.6ghz
nVidia GeForce 9800gtx+ 1gb Ram 2x2gb ddr2 or something Motherboard Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H Harddrive seagate 750gb Power supply has been bought anew twice so I would assume it's fine since I don't know the name. I live in Australia incase that helps with volt capacity and so on. Logitech g9 mouse and some old Windows keyboard. LG Flatron 1440x900 monitor. Hope that's what you meant. |

Re: nVidia won't install/won't allow/won't reboot
If it's bought anew twice it means the previous two you bought were not good enough for the system. Since your not mentioning the actual make model or wattage that tells me that it probably isn't good enough and that you don't want it to be the problem.
