Re: GeForce 9800 GTX+
We need to know the rest of your specs:
Motherboard CPU RAM Current graphics card Power supply The GTS250 is a 9800GTX+ with a slightly improved design. No additional performance, but a hair less power consumption. Also the 8800GTX is identical to the 9800GTX+ in all ways except the label and DX9.0c support, and is sometimes a little cheaper. The Radeon 4770 and 4850 compete with the 8800GTX/9800GTX+/GTS250 and are often cheaper than any of them--you can get a PowerColor Radeon 4850 512MB for $97. The Radeon 4870 is comparable to the GTX260 and is available for ~$130-150. The Radeon 5750 is available for $110-140 and competes with the 9800GTX+ and Radeon 4850, and the 5770 (match for the 4870) is available for $160-170. ALL of these cards should have a quality 550-650W power supply like the Corsair TX650W.

Re: GeForce 9800 GTX+
Two things:
1. The computer does have a power supply, else it wouldn't turn on. It's the boxy component where the power cord comes in, we need the brand and model # and wattage rating. 2. With your computer you're going to see a big bottleneck running a card in the range you're looking at. Meaning that your CPU isn't going to be able to keep up with your graphics card, so the card will be sitting around waiting for the CPU to catch up. I'd say anything better than a Radeon 4670 would be a waste, unless you're planning on doing a total system overhall.

Re: GeForce 9800 GTX+
@Phædrus2401 - Got you. There you go pal,
It's an inbuilt PSU since it's an OEM. Had a look at labels and everything you suggested. It's called FSP300-60LD 300 Watts. Following is the link to the product page. http://electronic-components.globals...A-9A98528887EC ""I'd say anything better than a Radeon 4670 would be a waste, unless you're planning on doing a total system overhall."" I'll take your suggestion in consideration however i would like to know, will Radeon 4670 let me play latest games and according to your knowledge and experience will it be obsolete in few years or will i atleast get value for money? |

Re: GeForce 9800 GTX+
A 4670 is still a pretty decent mid-range card. It's still gonna play games for years to come; just not on their highest settings. I mean, the Radeon X1000 series is from clear back in 2005 and the X1650, until very recently, was a standard "minimum requirement" card. Up until ~2008 it still got decent settings in most games. The 4670 is the Radeon 4 series' equivalent of the X1650.
