BSoD/ atkdisp errors

I'm having both these problems when I run Aion, it doesn't happen right when I log in but rather when I go into a populated area, like a city or town. I've disabled "asus osd" and "asus splendid" and deleted "smartdoctor" from my computer. My graphics card has the latest drivers. I was having the same problem when playing WoW, but got a tip to run it in /opengl and that did the trick. Any help for making Aion work would be greatly appreciated.

My specs:
Board: Gateway MCP61SM2MA FAB1.0
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

The Mobo has integrated graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405, that is not up to date because I run a graphics card anyways, wasn't sure if maybe this is causing a conflict?

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

Your really not suppose to run ati and nvidia hardware on the same system. The two companies driver software conflict's with each other and causes problems. If the pc does not use an nvidia chipset then just remove all of the nvidia gpu drivers from the pc with driver cleaner , and disable the gpu.

Also post the make and model power supply your using with this card.

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

The power supply is Allied, Model: AL-B500E.

I deleted the nvidia on board graphics driver last night and I was able to play the game, it did crash twice though, but after extended periods of play rather then instantly.

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

Your new problem is definitely that power supply. It doesn't have enough wattage , enough amps , a decent efficiency rating , or even the proper connectors for the card. It's basically junk with blue led's. It most definitely cannot handle the card.

You need a quality 600w or higher with 26 amps on the 12v rail or high and an 80+ certification. This would be the proper unit to use

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

Do you know of one that might be a bit cheaper but could run the card properly? I'm on a bit of a budget right now.

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

I'm not going to recommend anything lower then that. If your on a budget then you need to pair a proper video card and power supply together. If you pair a powerful card with a junk power supply then this is the result.

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

Ok, so I ordered the corsair 650 watt powersupply you suggested. I ordered a refurb and apparantly they where out of it so they instead sent me an atx ultra vx600, is this powersupply a total piece of ****? Will it work for what I need? And yes, I am frustrated with this.

Yea ULTRA is junk , send it back and get your money back , I wouldn't pay corsair money for and ultra product.

Re: BSoD/ atkdisp errors

So I ordered the corsair power supply you suggested and just installed it. Started up Aion to see what would happen... and crash, dead computer. I don't know where to go from here.... it loses my resolution setting and windows looks super pix elated and huge...
