My GPU "GTS 8800" wont run anymore
Hello,
i am here at my wits end.. and need your help please. Apparently in BIOS i lowered the CPU Voltage to 1.0. After this i could not get the PC running anymore.. If i take out the GPU from mainboard, the mainboard runs. If i have the GPU plugged inside, the mainboard doesnt run. There are no Signals or whatsoever to determine the exact Faults. I have tried BIOS Resetting through Jumper and Battery, no effect.. This is how i managed to get the GPU running, only once time but then the Monitor didnt come up.. after that this method didnt work anymore. "I changed the RAM slots, and used only one.." I cant figure out this Problem. Any Ideas how to solve this, i dont wanna bring this PC to techcenter and pay like 50 Bucks for only determing the fault. I also thought about getting diagnose card, i had my suspicion as whether this Card would give me the answer which Component is faulty. My Conclusion were that Mainboard is faulty, as i had issues with it in the last two years had 2 Mainboards exchanged due other faulties. But what if this mainboard isnt the issue, but the GPU is broken? Can anyone help me out here please, how to determine what is broken or not. Without GPU the mainboard runs, since the mainboard has not vga out, i couldnt test it all the way. With GPU, the mainboard is practically dead, it doesnt run anything at all. Just by lowering the cpu voltage to 1.0, i cant explain how can this damage my strong GPU if at all.. Any ideas? Specs: EVGA e-Geforce 8800 GTS. 320 MB, PCI-Express BE Quiet ATX-Netzteil 500 Watt, BQT E5 Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3,R3.3, Intel P965, ATX. PCI-E OCZ 2048MB-Kit DDR2. PC2-6400, Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel, CL4 |

Re: My GPU "GTS 8800" wont run anymore
You have a low quality underpowered PSU. The 8800GTSrequires a minimum 400W itself.
Do you have or can you borrow a good quality PSU, with substantial power, to try?

Re: My GPU "GTS 8800" wont run anymore
8800 needs 400w alone , your gonna run the rest of your pc on only 100watts? The power supply also is in fact a junk brand. It's also the old first gen 8800 which means it consumes an excessive amount of power over the revision.
For a system like that you need a quality brand 600w power supply or higher with 26 amps on the 12v rail and an 80+ certification. Actual quality brands include corsair , seasonic , silverstone , coolermaster , pc power and cooling , or thermaltakes toughpower.
