Two graphic card issues
Hi there
After a recent post I made on these forums, I bought myself a gtx 275 graphics card, along with a 650W PSU. It all runs fine, good, dandy, and what have you. However, my old card (8600 GT) and PSU (400W OCZ StealthXStream) were gathering dust and I decided to at least put the graphics card in another computer. The computer already had a 300W PSU so I thought that would be fine. The problem is, there was nothing displaying on the monitor at all, and it just stayed in standby mode. The fan on the graphics card was spinning so this struck me as odd. I then went on to replace the PSU, since the 400W handled the 8600 in my computer previously, but this had the same affect. When i removed the graphics card and reverted to using the on board graphics, it showed everything on the screen as it had before i started. I am at a loss as to why nothing is being displayed when the graphics card is in and the monitor is connected to it. I put it back in my main computer briefly and it worked fine on the boot up (I turned it off again as soon as I saw something displayed). If anyone knows what could be preventing it from working correctly, some help would be much appreciated. I also have another issue, regarding my gtx 275 card. With my 8600 I was always able to see the temperature it was running at, but the 275 is always just showing 0 degrees, even when using the nvidia system monitor. Is this a problem with the card, or is it something that a future driver update may fix? I have the most up to date drivers at the moment. Again, any ideas on this would be appreciated. |

Re: Two graphic card issues
Sorry, should have thought of that.
Palit GeForce GTX 275 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card is the GTX 275 I bought. The other computer is an HP Pavilion KN264AA a6402.uk |

Re: Two graphic card issues
On the advanced menu in the Bios make sure the "Primary Video Adapter" is set to PCIe.
I have seen Palit cards without a temp sensor, I suspect you may have one. I would contact Palit support to double check. |

Re: Two graphic card issues
The "Primary Video Adapter" was set to PCI, so i changed it to PCI-e and it is still not working. It's definitely being seated properly, and the cable is being connected properly too. Could it be a compatability issue with the motherboard perhaps?
