upgrading to a new video card and need advice..

im plan on upgrading my video card in a few days and i've been looking at a few that i might consider but have narrowed it down to one..

my current card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT DDR2 PCI X16 with 256 MB
the one i might get is a GeForce 9500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0

my question is would it be compatible and a worthy upgrade or should i try another card...

thanks

Re: upgrading to a new video card and need advice..

There is a difference but not a lot the 9500GT is close in performance to a 8600GT, a 9600GT might be a more worthwhile upgrade.
What power supply and CPU do you have?

Well don't bother with the 9500 , since it's a ddr2 model it'll be pretty much the same as your 8500. Also with that power supply you should upgrade the card at all , it's a not a very good unit and shouldn't be powering anything higher then what you got.
