GPU Connector
Just purchased a Radeon 4770 GPU but I have a question regarding the 6 pin power connector that comes with the card.
The other end of the connector is 3 pin whereas my PSU have 4 pins and while I have no doubt this will fit I will be left with 1 outstanding pin. Will this make any difference regarding power or performance and if so will I have to purchase a 6 pin to 4 pin connector? |

Re: GPU Connector
If you need to use the adapter it usually means your power supply is not large enough, the HD4770 uses the amount of power as a HD4850 under load and requires at least a 600w power supply, I usually use a Corsair 650TX with them.
What brand and model PSU do have? The adapter only has 3 wires because the card only needs the 12v from the plug not the 5v that is supplied in the red wire. |

Re: GPU Connector
A 450w unit is going to be too small for the long run
