dual screen mode help

hi i have a compaq presario sr2150nx and i got a new video card with 2 screen inputs. i plugged both in at the same time but only one of them works how can i have 2 screens at once oh yeah my video card is nvidia 8600gs and if it has to do with power i have a corsair 500watt psu please tell me how i can get dual screen

You have to activate the other in the display properties , it doesn't activate itself when plugged in.

Right hand button over the screen, "personalise" then "display settings".

That should show 2 screens if all is set up properly and you can pick which is the main and which second and left and right positions.

doesnt work. the connection that i plugged the screen into was either a hdtv or a dvi input could that be the problem.

i forgot the screens i know one of the brands is gateway they are both flatscreens now the link to show u my video card here

I should have specified we need to know exactly which screen your using meaning the model numbers. Gateway and vision make a lot of screens and we cannot just guess which ones your using.

ok i got them the screens are a vison v1922db 19 inch, the other screen is a gateway fpd1760 tft 17inch. thats the 2 screens and again the video card is this one http://www.4allmemory.com/index.cfm?...duct_id=238238
a nvidia geforce 8400gs there u go
